THE CHALLENGE
Making people data accessible and actionable
While Synopsys had used Visier for 11 years, access was restricted to a small number of HR super-users and rarely used by VPs. There was no People Analytics department. As the company grew, leaders needed more visibility into data and Finance wanted to improve budgeting and cash flow planning.
The team became obsessed with how to expand Visier’s footprint, make it “sticky,” and deliver “lightning in a bottle,” offering up-to-the-moment, dynamic data to inspire leaders at every level.
THE SOLUTION
Giving leaders and Finance real-time insights
Jen Heckle relaunched Visier by taking a strategic approach and rolling it out in phases to different leadership groups. The team added customized, tailored content “cockpits” to emphasize the importance of engaging people analytics.
One of the hurdles solved was partnering with Finance by plugging Visier’s modeling to predict time-to-hire by country on top of various notice periods. This gave Finance more visibility into market strengths and weaknesses and helped Synopsys prioritize hiring investments where it will yeild the most timely ROI. They also introduced Visier’s AI assistant, Vee, which allows all HR business partners to ask workforce questions in plain language and recieve instant results to help make business decisions faster and with greater confidence.

Evolving from manual work to strategic consulting
Since relaunching Visier, the appetite for people analytics has grown dramatically—leaders now view it as essential to their decision-making. Data literacy went up, and the People Analytics team evolved from manual data pulls to being a consultative partner and action enabler.
The impact, Jen shares, has been “revolutionary”. The team can now spend more time on insights and strategic work thanks to Visier. A two-time Visier customer, Jen loves the tool for the time-savings as well as the ability it gives her to focus on more impactful work.
